Associate educator
Personalised tuition following the Little Big Piano syllabus, with clear goals, supportive feedback and AMEB preparation where suitable.
Surcharges: A 20% surcharge applies to lessons scheduled on Sundays, public holidays, NSW public school holidays and NDIS-funded lessons. Travel or exceptional scheduling charges are confirmed before enrolment.
Rates and availability may change. The Trial Invoice or Term Invoice emailed to your family confirms the applicable amount.
Trial lesson
The trial includes practical and theory activities, a conversation about goals and a recommendation for the next step. There is no obligation to enrol, and an ongoing place is only confirmed in writing.
Included in the learning experience
A practical group chat may include the parent, principal and assigned educator to make communication easy and accessible.
Lesson reminders are shared once term invoices and scheduling arrangements have been confirmed.
Progress priorities are discussed through the term, with annual feedback and certificates recognising the student’s growth.
Families are advised which books and materials to purchase after the student’s level and pathway have been assessed.
Family support
Current eligibility and conditions are confirmed when you enquire.
The first child pays the standard fee. A second child may receive 10% off the lesser or equal lesson fee, and third and subsequent children may receive 15%, subject to current written conditions and timely payment.
Eligible NSW families may be able to use a Creative Kids voucher when Little Big Piano is participating as an approved provider. Voucher rules and provider participation can change, so please confirm before relying on it.
Whether piano tuition can be paid from an NDIS plan depends on the participant’s goals, plan and management arrangement. Funding approval cannot be guaranteed.
Enrolment & billing
Lessons generally follow the NSW public school calendar and are usually weekly for approximately 10 weeks. Term Invoices are emailed after the family confirms that they wish to continue and at the beginning of each following term, and calendar reminders are added once the arrangement is confirmed. Additional holiday lessons may be invoiced separately.
The payment due date is stated on each Trial Invoice and Term Invoice. A late payment penalty applies when payment is not made by the deadline, subject to the written agreement and applicable law.
A trial is a one-off paid lesson with practical and theory activities. It does not guarantee an ongoing place or preferred time, and there is no obligation to enrol.
All fees and enrolment conditions operate in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable Australian Consumer Law.
Lesson policy
Please provide at least 14 days’ written notice for holidays, events or other commitments. Families may pay for the term and forfeit the missed lesson, or pause for the term; a preferred day, time, location or educator may then be unavailable.
Please provide at least 12 hours’ written notice for illness, a late start or early termination. Missed lessons are generally not refunded and rescheduling is limited to the make-up policy, subject to consumer guarantees.
One make-up lesson may be offered in the same term. The educator determines the available day and whether it is in person or online. If the student cannot attend the offered make-up, it may be forfeited.
If an educator is unavailable, a replacement lesson will be arranged in the same term where practical. If the family cannot attend the offered replacement, a credit may apply to the next term, or a refund may apply if lessons cease at term end.
The complete Terms of Agreement supplied with a trial, enrolment or invoice sets out the final arrangement. Ask the school to clarify anything that is unclear before payment.
Nothing in Little Big Piano’s policies excludes, restricts or modifies rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. References to non-refundable fees apply only where the law permits and do not remove consumer guarantees for services.
