Enrolment & billing

Practical details before regular lessons begin.

Enrolment
  • New and returning students commence subject to availability and written confirmation.
  • An online registration form is required for all enrolments and re-enrolments and is completed when booking a trial lesson.
  • A $50 enrolment fee applies whenever a student was not enrolled during the immediately preceding term, including new students and returning students after a break. It is added to the first Term Invoice once enrolment has been accepted and confirmed.
  • A place is not guaranteed until the educator, lesson time, location and payment arrangements have been confirmed in writing. Once all requirements are met, an email confirmation secures the place.
  • Families are responsible for purchasing required music books and resources as advised.
Term dates and invoices

Lessons generally follow the NSW public school calendar and are usually weekly for approximately 10 weeks. Term Invoices are emailed after the family confirms that they wish to continue and at the beginning of each following term, and calendar reminders are added once the arrangement is confirmed. Additional holiday lessons may be invoiced separately.

Payment process

The payment due date is stated on each Trial Invoice and Term Invoice. A late payment penalty applies when payment is not made by the deadline, subject to the written agreement and applicable law.

Trial lesson

A trial is a one-off paid lesson with practical and theory activities. It does not guarantee an ongoing place or preferred time, and there is no obligation to enrol.

Lesson policy

Absences, make-ups and replacements.

Planned absences

Please provide at least 14 days’ written notice for holidays, events or other commitments. Families may pay for the term and forfeit the missed lesson, or pause for the term; a preferred day, time, location or educator may then be unavailable.

Unplanned absences

Please provide at least 12 hours’ written notice for illness, a late start or early termination. Missed lessons are generally not refunded and rescheduling is limited to the make-up policy, subject to consumer guarantees.

Make-up lesson for a student absence

One make-up lesson may be offered in the same term. The educator determines the available day and whether it is in person or online. If the student cannot attend the offered make-up, it may be forfeited.

Replacement lesson for an educator absence

If an educator is unavailable, a replacement lesson will be arranged in the same term where practical. If the family cannot attend the offered replacement, a credit may apply to the next term, or a refund may apply if lessons cease at term end.

Full agreement

The complete Terms of Agreement supplied with a trial, enrolment or invoice sets out the final arrangement. Ask the school to clarify anything that is unclear before payment.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in Little Big Piano’s policies excludes, restricts or modifies rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. References to non-refundable fees apply only where the law permits and do not remove consumer guarantees for services.
